Kumbh Mela 2025: The Maha Kumbh Mela, one of the world’s largest religious congregations, marks the confluence of devotion, culture, traditions and faith. The festival, deeply rooted in Hindu mythology, takes place every 12 years. The Maha Kumbh Mela is held on a rotational basis across the four holy cities of Haridwar, Prayagraj, Ujjain and Nashik.

Maha Kumbh Mela 2025 will be held from January 13 to February 26 at Triveni Sangam— the confluence of the Ganga, Yamuna, and the mythical Saraswati— in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh. The most important religious gathering for Hindus is expected to attract millions of devotees and holy saints from across the world.

The festival goes beyond religious practices and includes a rich blend of astrological, socio-cultural traditions and spiritual enlightenment. During Maha Kumbh, several devotees come to the Triveni Sangam to participate in sacred ceremonies, including the Shahi Snan or the holy bath, which they believe would cleanse their sins and lead them to spiritual liberation.
