Scarlett Johansson reacts to Colin Jost’s ‘dumb’ ferry purchase

Scarlett Johansson does not like to be included in husband Colin Jost’s “dumb purchase” as the Marvel actress was not really happy when Collin revealed to her that he has decided to invest money in a dismantled John F. Kennedy Staten Island Ferry with a group of investors for $280,100.

In a recent teaser of the SmartLess podcast for the upcoming May 4 episode, the comedian shared, “I texted Scarlett, like, ‘Guess what? We own a ferry now.'”

In response, Scarlett did not appear to be impressed as Colin recalled, “And she was like, ‘We?'”

Collin revealed that he got the idea for buying the ferry, which the 63-year-old JFK ferry used to travel on to attend Regis High School on Manhattan’s Upper East Side from Grymes Hill as a teenager, after his pal Pete Davidson texted him when the ferry was up for auction.

The 43-year-old Saturday Night Live star admitted he was “the wrong person to text with when you have an idea like this.”

Collin said he replied to Pete, “I was like, ‘Should we buy this?’ “

And Pete followed his former castmate and fellow Staten Islander’s lead.

“F*** yeah, we’ve got to do this!” Pete replied at the time.

However, Collin called his idea “sort of crazy money pit,” recalling his mindset, “I was thinking in a real estate way, if you put it somewhere, it’s 70,000 square feet.”

”So I was like, ‘If you put that on a dock in Manhattan, you’ve suddenly got basically a building on the waterfront.'”

Now, Collin revealed he is envisioning to begin a swim club at the ferry with an entertainment space and it will also take an annual trip in winter to Miami.

If the impulse buy, including the renovations, was the right choice, Collin reassured, “It’s going to be fine!”

He joked, “Is this a good financial sign where you’re like, ‘It’s fine!?’”

It is pertinent to mention that Scarlett and Collin tied the knot in 2020 and welcomed a son named Cosmo in August 2021.
