EastEnders star Natalie Cassidy has been left devastated after her nine-year-old daughter was rushed to hospital following a serious injury.

Cassidy, known for her role as Sonia Fowler in the long-running BBC soap EastEnders, recently detailed the incident on her Life With Nat podcast. The 43-year-old British actress revealed that her daughter Joanie, whom she shares with her fiance Marc Humphreys, recently broke her arm after slipping over in the hall before a physical education class at school.

Cassidy said that she had a “nervous breakdown” as her daughter went through the surgery mere weeks after having an operation on the same arm. She said, “Same arm, smashed to pieces. General anaesthetic, same operation.”

“I am speechless. It’s so traumatic,” Cassidy added while describing her situation after learning about Joanie’s arm.

She continued, “I was not in a good place. Just her little body – and the medication and the trauma of it all.”

She shared that all the blood tests of her daughter were “absolutely perfect,” however, she was tested for “some sort of deficiency” which could make her more susceptible to bone injuries.

The update comes months after Cassidy made headlines for supporting proposed restrictions on social media use among children under 16., after getting “horrified” by what algorithm shows to kids.
