Leonardo DiCaprio shocked Nikki Glaser after ‘awkward’ joke at award show
Nikki Glaser made pointed jabs at Leonardo DiCaprio when she hosted the Golden Globes, but the actor appreciated the joke.
After the award show, Glaser, as per her custom for celebrities she roasts during her hosting segments, she sent the Titanic star flowers.
DiCaprio sent her a return gift himself, as the comedian and host told Jimmy Fallon during The Tonight Show.
“He sent me three baskets of pasta as a thank you. So funny. So good. Part of me was like, ‘Does Leo want to smash?’ I was like, ‘All right,’” Glaser told the host.
However, she added, “The type of girl he goes for, he wouldn’t send pasta to,” she mused before joking, “Spaghetti O’s — maybe I would have been more his type. A crib full of Dunkaroos and Go-Gurt, I would have been like, ‘Oh he’s into me.’ He dates young girls. I can’t stop!”
The Shutter Island actor took Glaser’s joke in good humour and his gift directly reflected that.
During the ceremony, she joked that the actor is such a private person that no information about him is available online. Except for when he once shared that his favourite food is pasta, in a 1991 interview.
DiCaprio laughed, mouthed “Yes!” and raised a thumbs up for Glaser as she made the joke.
She also told Fallon that she struggled to find a joke about the Don’t Look Up actor because she didn’t want to joke about his young girlfriends since it’s become a redundant fact about him.
