Lizzo recently declared her relationship with social media “very toxic” since her workplace harassment scandal came to light last year.
In an interview with Baby, This Is Keke Palmer, the 36-year-old singer admitted that she feels “physically unwell” whenever she sees mean comments about her on social media.
The Pink crooner said, “Anything that you saw was either someone on my team posted for me, or I posted real quick and threw my phone.”
She then added, “When I see things about me now, or if even if I see a word that looks like my name, I get physically unwell, and I can’t take it. So I have a very toxic relationship with the internet now.”
According to Lizzo, people will “believe” anything “bad” they read about a famous person.
The About Damn Time hitmaker also talked about losing “fans” as she said, “I was like, Oh, wow. This is the part of fame that you unknowingly sign up for.”
The singer went on to explain that people now will just believe anything bad about a person because there’s something about being a famous person that it’s almost like people want to believe that they are bad people.
“But if you unfollowed me that quickly, were you even a fan?” she noted.
Lizzo’s former dancers alleged they were pressured by the singer into touching nude performers while at a club in Amsterdam.
Moreover, they were allegedly forced to endure weight shaming and a hostile work environment.
The siner, whose real name is Melissa Viviane Jefferson, on other hand, has denied all of the allegations made against her.
