Prince William and Princess Kate had a busy day apart from each other as they fulfilled their respective patronage roles.
On Thursday, January 15, the Prince and Princess of Wales marked their first solo engagements of 2026 to support causes close to their hearts. Kate, who just turned 44 last week, hosted a celebratory reception at Windsor Castle while William, 43, stepped out into the countryside.
As patron of the Rugby Football Union, the future queen hosted the Red Roses to celebrate their World Cup win last year. “A great day hosting Women’s Rugby World Cup winners @redroserugby today at Windsor! Congratulations to you all – what an achievement!” read a statement on the Prince and Princess of Wales’ official social media account.
The accompanying pictures showed Kate stunning in a red pantsuit as she mingled with a team and received a signed jersey as a gift.
While Princess Catherine was championing inclusivity and equal opportunity in sports, the future king was visiting Bridge End Farm in Herefordshire to discuss the importance of rural mental health, fulfilling his role as patron of We Are Farming Minds.
Kensington Palace also shared a short video capturing the highlights of the outing, including the Prince of Wales feeding the sheep and getting his hands dirty around the farm.
