The Fourth of July takes over the area this weekend with the 60th Annual Palisades Parade, fireworks on and off the National Mall and festive celebrations across the city. But World Cup season is still in full swing, too, with watch parties at Buddy’s and even a sunset cruise out of Alexandria Marina. If soccer isn’t your thing, there are also community events, art exhibits and creative gatherings to fill the long weekend. Just don’t forget the sunscreen — a heat dome is expected to push temperatures close to 100 degrees.
