A 12-year-old boy has recreated and recorded approximately 700 verses of the Bhagavad Gita using 84,426 unique illustrations. Prasanna Kumar DP, a student of Swarupa Adhyayana Kendra in Mangaluru, has accomplished this remarkable feat, earning a place in the India Book of Records (IBR) for transcribing the Bhagavad Gita in the pictorial language developed by the academy.
Prasanna Kumar, the son of Pampapathy and Nandini from Holehonnur in Shimoga district, Karnataka, previously studied at Rashtrothan Vidyalaya before joining Swarupa Adhyayana Kendra. With the goal of enhancing the visual experience of the Sanskrit verses of the Bhagavad Gita, he worked tirelessly for two-and-a-half months, creating 1,400 lines on hardboard sheets. His efforts were recognised in the India Book of Records in August.
Through his dedication, Prasanna Kumar recreated 700 verses with 84,426 images, showcasing not only his remarkable concentration and skill but also highlighting the innovative teaching methods of Swarupa Adhyayana Kendra.

Gopadkar, the founder of the centre, explained that the unique pictorial language developed at Swarupa Adhyayana Kendra aids students in learning and memorising various subjects effectively. “This pictorial language allows students to retain information more easily, whether it’s verses or academic notes,” he said.
He emphasised that the centre is not solely focused on art but also aims to enhance students’ creative and cognitive abilities alongside their studies.
Prasanna Kumar expressed his gratitude to the centre for its support throughout his journey. He also expressed his desire to get a place in the Guinness World Records. “The study centre gave me the strength and confidence to memorise everything and helped me focus. I am now ready to set another world record,” he said.
