In a move aimed at making dream weddings more accessible, the Tamil Nadu government has introduced a new initiative that will allow middle and lower-income families to host weddings by the sea, an experience that was until now largely reserved for celebrities and affluent business families. The scheme will be implemented along the eastern coastline of Chennai, particularly in the scenic Mamallapuram stretch. The initiative seeks to provide an affordable alternative to expensive private beach resorts, enabling ordinary families to celebrate weddings amid natural coastal surroundings without incurring heavy costs.
