Yoga asanas improves blood circulation to the liver, which helps flush out accumulated toxins.
The liver is one of the most vital organs in the human body. From digesting the food we eat to filtering toxins from the blood, it performs hundreds of essential functions that keep the body running smoothly. However, modern lifestyles and unhealthy eating habits have led to a rise in serious conditions such as Fatty Liver Disease and Liver Cirrhosis.
Yoga trainer Eligeti Krishna from Vemulawada in Rajanna Sircilla district says that practising yoga asanas improves blood circulation to the liver, which helps flush out accumulated toxins. For proper digestion and energy production, the liver must function efficiently, he adds.
Krishna recommends starting the day with a glass of warm water, followed by light warm-up exercises before beginning yoga practice.
Here are some key yoga poses that can help improve liver health:
Bhujangasana (Cobra Pose): This pose stretches the abdominal region, creating gentle pressure on the liver and stimulating its function. It not only supports liver health but also helps relieve back pain.
Dhanurasana (Bow Pose): By bending the body into a bow shape, this asana provides a deep massage to the internal organs in the abdomen. It is especially beneficial for those dealing with fatty liver issues.
Ardha Matsyendrasana (Half Spinal Twist): This twisting posture positively impacts the liver and pancreas. It boosts digestion and helps reduce inflammation in the liver.
Naukasana (Boat Pose): This pose strengthens the abdominal muscles and improves blood circulation to the liver, aiding in the elimination of toxins from the body.
Kapalbhati Pranayama: This breathing technique is considered highly effective for liver health. According to Krishna, it works remarkably well in managing liver-related conditions.
Krishna also shared that free yoga training sessions are conducted daily from 8 am to 9 am at the Ayush Health Centre, located near the RDO office in Vemulawada town. He encouraged students and youth to make the most of this opportunity, especially during the upcoming summer holidays.
He emphasised that yoga not only improves physical health but also enhances mental peace, concentration, and overall behaviour.
He further advised parents to introduce their children to yoga at an early age to help them grow into healthy individuals.
Emphasising that “health is true wealth,” Krishna urges everyone to practise yoga for at least 30 minutes daily to stay free from liver-related problems and lead a healthier life.
