If you’ve not yet had your fill of television superstars Fawad Khan and Sanam Saeed working their magic together on screen, fear not. After wrapping up their work on Barzakh and Jo Bache Hain Samait Lo, the duo have been slated to appear in the web series Shandur for Indian OTT platform Sony LIV.

For his upcoming role, Fawad will essay a polo-loving Chitrali prince, having even taken up polo lessons to perfect the part. According to Something Haute, the series has been written by Umera Ahmed and directed by Asim Raza. Alongside Fawad and Sanam, viewers will be able to enjoy the performances of Mikaal Zulfiqar and Hira Khan. Encapsulating locations from both Pakistan and the UK, the series is scheduled to be released later this year. The Shandur top in Pakistan is expected to be a special feature of the film, being the highest polo ground in the world at an altitude of 3,700 metres.

In addition to Barzakh, Jo Bache Hain Samait Lo, and now Shandur, Fawad and Sanam have solidified their place in the hearts of fans with their collaboration on Zindagi Gulzar Hai. Meanwhile, director Asim and Umera previously joined forces for Behadd, which featured Fawad, Nadia Jamil, and Sajal Aly.

With Instagram proving to be the hottest place to pick up breadcrumbs for the project, makeup artist Adnan Ansari shared a photo featuring the Shandur team in Chitral. Further details of their latest project are tightly under wraps, so for avid viewers, it is now a waiting game. Whether Pakistani audiences will be able to access the show, due to strict regulations, however, is another matter altogether.
