Hilarious moment Abby Lee Miller’s wig flies off on roller coaster
Abby Lee Miller has laughed at herself after her wig flew off while riding a rollercoaster at SeaWorld.
The dance teacher, 60, posted a video on Instagram as part of a collaboration with the Orlando theme park and its new Penguin Trek ride, which features a top speed of 43mph, 65-foot heights, and a walkthrough of a real penguin habitat. Miller explained in the clip that she was “in disguise” as she wore a platinum blonde wig with a hot pink SeaWorld jersey.
Once she got on the ride, it was smooth sailing until the speed changes and drops kicked in, causing her wig to fly off. The two people behind her attempted to catch it, but they weren’t quick enough.
At the end of the ride, Miller gave her review, saying the Penguin Trek belonged at the “top of the pyramid,” referencing one of her well-known quotes from Dance Moms.
“However, I’m at the bottom, last, because I didn’t have my headpiece secured,” she said. “I know I’m going to hear about it, social media is going to go off on me because I lost my headpiece.”
Miller ended up being right, as many people quickly pointed out that she was the one who constantly berated both children and parents alike for their competition headpieces on Dance Moms, but she did not follow her own advice.
“Now why wasn’t the headpiece sewn downnnn Abby,” one person questioned, while another pointed out, “Her words: ‘the headpiece gets sewn into the head.’”
A third person referenced a very specific scene during the reality show where Chloe Lukasiak was suspended from Miller’s dance studio for one week after her hat fell off during a dance competition.
“Chloe’s hat would like a word,” they wrote.
Miller shot to fame on Dance Moms, in which she trained children to go into dance and show business under her exacting tutelage; however, ex-students left the program to complain about the difficult treatment they endured. The show debuted in 2011 and ended in 2019.
The dance teacher has since admitted during a May 2024 interview with ABC that she was possibly too harsh on her students, but added that she was only remorseful because “they just didn’t have the talent.”
“Because no matter how harsh I was on the kid, they weren’t going to get it. They just didn’t have the talent. They didn’t have it,” Miller explained at the time.
Several cast members have skyrocketed to fame as a result of the show, including Maddie Ziegler and JoJo Siwa.
