Indian music producer, rapper, and singer Yo Yo Honey Singh has revealed his journey of learning about Islam through spiritual leaders and Sufis.

In a recent interview with an Indian journalist, Honey Singh openly discussed his exploration of Islamic teachings and how it shaped his understanding of faith.

Singh recalled his early years, saying that he moved to the city of Mohali, Punjab, in 2007. At the time, he was an unknown music producer, far from the fame he enjoys today.

During his stay in Mohali, he met several religious scholars and Sufis who introduced him to the basics of Islam. His curiosity about the religion grew as he sought answers to many questions that were on his mind.

Singh explained that through these spiritual leaders, he gained a deep understanding of Islam, learning about figures like Prophet Moses and Jesus, and the role of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).

He attentively listened to the teachings, especially about the portrayal of Jesus in the Quran.

The rapper shared how he would often ask questions about various aspects of the religion, and the scholars would patiently provide him with answers.

Reflecting on his career, Honey Singh admitted that after achieving fame and wealth in 2012, he strayed from the path of faith and got involved in darker forces.

“That was the biggest mistake of my life,” he confessed.

He further elaborated that this mistake cost him dearly, affecting his life, health, and career. However, after recovering from illness in 2018, he made a comeback, now firmly believing in God.
