From overly decadent suits to eyebrow-raising silhouettes — the 2026 Academy Award red carpet was filled with fashion don’ts.
While some celebrities are wowing with their looks, others are completely missing the mark in outfits that don’t match the occasion’s lavishness.
Hamnet director sparked comparisons to the Grim Reaper from certain angles, wearing a black dress complete with an eerie veil, while Canadian TV star Kevin O’Leary wore a strangely medieval-looking suit accessorized, inexplicably, with a vintage 2004 NBA card around his neck. Marty Supreme star Timothée Chalamet, meanwhile, ruined an otherwise suitable all-white suit with a performative pair of sunglasses.

Timothée Chalamet
