Devotees worship Lord Vamana dev, the fifth incarnation of Lord Vishnu, on this day.

The auspicious occasion of Parivartini Ekadashi falls on the day of the Shukla Ekadashi of Bhadrapada month this year. On this day, devotees observe a fast and worship Lord Vamana dev, the fifth incarnation of Lord Vishnu. The rituals performed on this day are considered very auspicious. On the same day, three other auspicious yogas will be formed making the day more special for devotees. The yogas are Ravi Yoga, Shobhana Yoga andSarvartha Siddhi Yoga. Speaking in this context, Dr Krishna Kumar Bhargav from Tirupati shared some details of this auspicious day. He also talked about the rituals of Parivartini Ekadashi and the auspicious muhurat to observe fast. This year, Parivartini Ekadashi is set to be observed on Saturday, September 14. The Shukla Ekadashi tithi of the Bhadrapada month will begin at 10:30 PM on September 13 and will last until 8:41 PM on September 14.

The auspicious muhurat of Ravi Yoga starts at 6:06 AM and will last until 8:32 PM on September 14, followed by Sarvartha Siddhi Yoga which falls from 8:32 PM and will last until 6:06 AM on September 15. The sacred Shobhana Yoga starts today at 8:48 PM and will last till 6:18 PM on September 14. Uttara Ashadha Nakshatra starts at 9:35 PM on September 13 and will last till 8:32 PM, on September 14 while Shravana Nakshatra falls after the conclusion of Uttara Ashadha Nakshatra and will last until 6:49 PM on September 15.

The auspicious muhurat of Parivartini Ekadashi puja starts at 6:06 AM on September 14. The astrologer advised the devotees to complete the rituals and perform the worship of Lord Vamana during Ravi and Shobhana Yogas. The Rahukal or the inauspicious time on this day starts at 9:11 PM and lasts until 10:44 AM. No one should perform any ritual during that time.

One should start the day by taking a bath and offering water to the Sun God in the morning. The astrologer mentioned that after bathing one should take water and flowers and make a vow to observe the fast and perform the puja for Parivartini Ekadashi. After this, you can start the puja. First, adorn an idol of Lord Vishnu or Lord Vamana with flowers, garland, sandalwood, yellow clothes and sacred thread. Then offer yellow flowers, turmeric, rice, roli (red powder), tulsi leaves, jaggery, fruits, and other food offerings to the deity. Before performing these rituals, you can bathe the idol with Gangajal and Panchamrit. After offering all the items, read out the sacred text and conclude the worship with Aarti. On the next day, bathe and then end your fast with Parivartini Ekadashi Parana.

People observing fast on this auspicious occasion can break their fast on September 15, anytime between 6:06 AM and 8:34 AM.
