Sobhita Dhulipala graced the 55th International Film Festival of India in a classic Raw Mango pale pink kurta set with gota and dori work.
Sobhita Dhulipala graced the 55th International Film Festival of India looking ethereal in a classic Indian silhouette.
Joined on the red carpet with her soon-to-be husband, actor Naga Chaitanya Akkineni, Sobhita attended the film festival in Goa. Also present on the red carpet were veteran actor Akkineni Nagarjuna and his wife, Amala Akkineni.
Styled in an exquisite pastel pale pink kurta set from the label Raw Mango, Sobhita set the tone for the festive season. Looking surreal in the organza kurta featuring a silk border, the silhouette was highlighted with traditional gota patti work.
Believed to have originated in Rajasthan, the gota patti or gota work applique technique involves cut zari ribbons applied onto the textile with the edges sewn down to create patterns as surface ornamentation.

The Janak pale pink sheer kurta draws inspiration from the classical Indian architectural feature jharoka. She paired the kurta with a satin Desna churidar.
Sobhita completed her traditional look with a sheer organza Kirati pale pink odhani enhanced with the jharokha design. The Indian architectural feature until the 19th century was often used as motif and Raw Mango beautifully brings it to life through gota and dori kaam embroidery.
Exuding royalty in the traditional statement piece, Sobhita posed on the red carpet along with Naga Chaitanya, Nagarjuna and Amala. Naga Chaitanya complemented Sobhita’s stylish look with a blue blazer paired with a light blue shirt. The couple who
Sobhita accentuated the pastel of the silhouette with a pearl necklace. The oversized pair of sunglasses and the traditional look combination, definitely exuded the modern ‘maharani’ vibe.
Known for her love of tradition and Indian craftsmanship, Sobhita’s Nischitaardham (engagement) ceremony had seen the stunning bride-to-be drape a golden blush uppada silk Manish Malhotra saree. The silhouette derived from the paintings of iconic Telugu artist Bapu, echoed the classic half-saree style of young South Indian women. While Naga Chaitanya wore an interpretation of the classic Pattu pancha, laalchi and kanduva – a traditional three-piece set worn by the men of Andhra Pradesh.
The opening ceremony of IFFI 2024 Goa which was held on November 20, 2024 was attended by celebrities including Sanya Malhotra, Bhumi Pednekar, Ishan Khatter, Rakul Preet Singh, Jackky Bhagnani, Boman Irani, Randeep Hooda, Sunny Kaushal, Prasoon Joshi, Sudhir Mishra, Abhishek Banerjee, Madhur Bhandarkar, Taha Shah Badussha, Rajkummar Rao, Jaideep Ahlawat, Ankita Lokandhe, Vikas Jain, Gauahar Khan and festival director Shekhar Kapur among others.
