Television host and comedian Tabish Hashmi is set to make his feature film debut with a negative role in Aag Lagay Basti Mein, marking a new chapter in his entertainment career.
Hashmi, best known for hosting the comedy talk show, has built a reputation for his quick wit and conversational style, interviewing many of the country’s leading political, cultural and entertainment figures. Before entering mainstream television, he performed stand-up comedy, gaining recognition for his natural comic timing.
The upcoming film also marks actor Fahad Mustafa’s return to cinemas. Aag Lagay Basti Mein is Mustafa’s first production venture, in which he stars opposite Mahira Khan. The project has generated interest not only for its leading cast but also for Hashmi’s transition from television hosting to acting.
Speaking at a recent appearance, Hashmi was asked whether he felt nervous about making his acting debut. Responding in a light-hearted manner, he said it was Mustafa who had invested in the film and therefore had more reason to feel anxious. “I have done my job with what was given to me,” he remarked, drawing laughter from the audience.
Fans have expressed anticipation over Hashmi’s role, particularly as he is set to portray a negative character in the film.
