The View co-host Alyssa Farah Griffin has given birth to her first child with husband Justin Griffin.

Whoopi Goldberg, who co-hosts the ABC daytime talk show, announced during Wednesday’s broadcast that Griffin, 36, gave birth to baby Justin Patrick Griffin Jr., named after his father.

“He’s the most beautiful little boy I’ve ever seen,” Griffin said in a statement. The baby weighed seven pounds and measured 19 and a half inches when he was born Tuesday.

The show said in a statement, “Both mom and baby are doing well, and we can’t wait to meet this little boy!”

Co-hosts Sara Haines, Sunny Hostin, Joy Behar and Ana Navarro led the live audience in applause to celebrate Griffin during Wednesday’s show, with Behar jokingly asking who forgot to shoot off confetti.

The big announcement comes a day after the panelists on the show announced that the former political strategist had gone into labor.

Goldberg joked on Monday’s show that Bad Bunny’s Super Bowl halftime show performance might have put the conservative panelist into labor.

Griffin, who joined The View permanently in 2022, planned to start her maternity leave after the February 13 show, ahead of her due date February 19, but the baby arrived earlier than expected.

Special guest hosts are set to keep Griffin’s seat warm while she is on maternity leave, starting February 17 with reality TV star Savannah Chrisley.

Other stars expected to fill in for Griffin include former The Talk host Sheryl Underwood, comedian Whitney Cummings and political adviser Amanda Carpenter.

Griffin announced her pregnancy on the show in October, saying at the time: “I’m so overjoyed, and I shared with all of you that I went through IVF. It was hard, it took us about a year, it took us five rounds. But he’s here, he’s coming.”

During her announcement, the conservative TV personality gave a shout-out to her “supportive” husband, who was in the audience at the time.

“I couldn’t be happier,” Griffin said to her co-hosts. “This is a big moment for our family, and growing family I should say.”

Griffin and her husband got married in November 2021 after a year-long engagement.

The Republican previously served as the White House communications director from April 2020 to December 2020. However, she has been public about criticism of her ex-boss, Donald Trump, which she previously said on the show led to members of her family skipping her wedding to Justin.
