The first-ever edition of Vogue Values: Women of Excellence was held on February 17, bringing together powerful voices from sport, culture, business, entertainment and social change. It was a day filled with meaningful conversations and an evening dedicated to honouring women who are shaping the present and future in their own way.
Among the names celebrated was track star Jyothi Yarraji, who was recognised for her record-breaking run and consistent dominance on the track.

While her achievements on the field are widely known, Yarraji made an equally striking impression on the red carpet. For the evening, she chose a black gown by designer Sharnita Nandwana. The outfit gave a bold update to the classic black dress. It featured an asymmetric neckline that cut sharply across the collarbone.
A hand-embellished strap secured the look, doubling up as a statement detail. The corseted bodice hugged her waist perfectly before falling into a floor-length skirt with a high slit that added drama. Layers of hand-beaded tulle added texture to the gown, while geometric patterns across the fabric gave it a structured, almost architectural feel. The look felt strong and confident, much like Yarraji herself. She paired the outfit with a sculptural serpent ear cuff from Swarovski.
The crystal-studded piece wrapped around her ear and instantly caught attention. On her feet were classic black pumps by Jimmy Choo, finished with glittering bows that brought a playful contrast to the sharp gown. Her hair was styled open with a soft side part, tucked neatly behind one ear to highlight the jewellery. Makeup remained minimal and clean, with neutral tones and defined eyes completing the look.
Jyothi Yarraji is a national record holder in the 100m hurdles continues to raise the bar for Indian athletics. She is a two-time Asian champion, winning gold in the 100m hurdles at the Asian Championships in 2023 and 2025. She also clinched a silver medal at the 2022 Asian Games. In 2024, she made history by becoming the first Indian woman to compete in the 100m hurdles at the Paris Olympics.
