For their 20-year anniversary, Falguni Shane Peacock celebrated with a grand finale at India Couture Week 2024, presenting their latest collection “Rang Mahal”. In collaboration with Swadesh, a brand championing India’s rich textile heritage, the collection highlighted the exceptional skills of Indian artisans and weavers. Rashmika Mandanna and Vicky Kaushal turned heads as showstoppers, with Rashmika opening the show in a white lehenga adorned with sequins and pearls, showcasing both contemporary elegance and traditional craftsmanship. Vicky complemented her in an ivory and gold bandhgala. “Rang Mahal” drew inspiration from India’s royal heritage, featuring luxurious silks, velvets, and intricate embroideries that evoked the splendor of royal courts. The collection celebrated India’s cultural diversity and vivid hues, drawing inspiration from majestic symbols like parrots, peacocks, and the Taj Mahal, and showcasing the unparalleled skill and craftsmanship of indigenous weavers.
“We are thrilled to mark our 20th anniversary with the grand finale of FDCI’s Hyundai India Couture Week. Rang Mahal is more than just a collection; it is a homage to the artisans, the storytellers, and the custodians of our cultural legacy. Our collaboration with Swadesh brings forth the finest handwoven textiles, celebrating India’s rich artisanal heritage. As each model graces the runway, they carry with them the spirit of India’s past and the promise of its future, wrapped in the splendor of our cultural history, preserved and celebrated through fashion. Tanishq’s bespoke jewels resonate with our vision, and we eagerly look forward to unveiling our collection adorned with their exquisite creations. Join us as we celebrate the art of storytelling through the lens of haute couture, where every piece is a work of art,” the duo said about the show.
