Rashmika Mandanna may have walked in glowing like a goddess, but we need a serious moment for Vijay Deverakonda, because that groom did not come to play. Draped in a traditional ivory dhoti and angavastram edged in rich red, Vijay leaned fully into a temple-royalty aesthetic. And the jewellery had royal written all over it.

Starting at the top, a delicate forehead band framed his face, giving him that warrior-prince energy. His ears carried bold circular gold studs which were traditional yet commanding.

Then came the neck stack. He layered not one but multiple heavy gold harams. The standout piece however was a long, intricately carved temple necklace featuring embossed deity motifs and circular medallions. The craftsmanship was elaborate (almost armour-like) sitting against his bare chest with grandeur. Beneath it, a shorter, tightly coiled gold chain added dimension and weight.

And just when you thought it stopped there came the wrists. Massive gold kadas hugged his forearms, deeply etched with floral carvings. One statement cuff in particular looked almost sculptural, with raised relief work that resembled antique South Indian temple pillars. He also wore gold armulets.

Around his torso, a traditional gold waist belt with intricate carvings cinched the veshti, adding structure and regal authority. Finished with jasmine garlands, Vijay looked every bit a star as he is. In fact, he looked more like a Chola dynasty king stepping into matrimony.

In a wedding where the bride wore temple artistry and layered heirlooms, Vijay matched, and arguably mirrored, the opulence beat for beat. In 2026, grooms are no longer playing supporting character. And Vijay Deverakonda? He just raised the bar, in solid gold.
