In a video shared on Instagram, a Harvard, Stanford and AIIMS-trained gastroenterologist, Dr Saurabh Sethi, revealed what would happen if one person would regularly eat an entire avocado for 14 days straight. Here are the 3 benefits that he has mentioned:

Dr Saurabh Sethi goes on to mention, “This combination of fibre and healthy fats in avocados can help improve satiety and reduce overeating. A small daily serving, which is about half to one avocado, can be an excellent addition for most people.”

The gastroenterologist ends the video by recommending that people replace spreads like butter, mayo, or creamy dressings with mashed-up avocado, as it can improve the fat profile of a meal.

Avocado and Paneer Spread Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 ripe avocado
  • ½ cup paneer (crumbled)
  • 2 tbsp hung curd
  • 1–2 green chillies
  • 2–3 garlic cloves
  • A handful of cilantro (coriander leaves)
  • Salt & pepper to taste
  • Chilli flakes & oregano (for garnish)

Method:

  • Cut the avocado in half.
  • Remove the seed of the avocado and scoop out the soft flesh using a spoon.
  • Place it in a blender along with all the above-mentioned ingredients, barring the chilli flakes and oregano.
  • Give it a whiz until it forms a nice, smooth and spreadable consistency.
  • Spread it on a slice of toast bread and garnish with some chilli flakes for a little kick and oregano.
