Bill Mazeroski, a stalwart second baseman for the Pittsburgh Pirates known for his sure glove and proficiency at turning the double play, and whose home run to vanquish the New York Yankees in the 1960 World Series remains a signature moment in baseball history, died Feb. 20. He was 89.
