In a landmark move, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has selected the port city Gwadar, located in Balochistan, to host the Player Draft for the 10th edition of the HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL).
The draft ceremony, which will kick off the league’s activities, is scheduled for Saturday, January 11, 2025. The event’s exact time will be announced in due course.

The decision to choose Gwadar as the venue aims to bring cricket closer to the people of Balochistan, promoting the sport and inspiring young talent to pursue professional cricket.
This initiative is part of the PCB’s broader strategy to extend the reach of the HBL PSL and showcase Pakistan’s diverse and vibrant cultural landscape to the world.
PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi highlighted the importance of Gwadar’s economic and strategic role, emphasizing that the city’s selection as the host for the draft was intended to celebrate its significance while fostering national unity through cricket.
HBL PSL CEO Salman Naseer expressed his pride in announcing Gwadar as the venue, stating that the move reflects the league’s commitment to inclusivity and inspiring the youth of Balochistan and beyond to aim for bigger dreams.
The player retention and relegation details are expected to be announced later this month.
