Regarding team selection, he indicated decisions would factor in the opposition and prevailing conditions. “If a player is beneficial for the team, he will definitely be considered,” He assured, noting ongoing coordination with Gary Kirsten for managing player workloads.
Addressing Pakistan’s perceived weakness in fielding, Gillespie declared improving this aspect as a primary objective. “It’s widely acknowledged that Pakistan’s fielding needs improvement, so that’s a priority,” he stated. “Our aim is to compete effectively against top-quality opposition.”
Gillespie confirmed his upcoming travel with the team to Australia, reflecting on Pakistan’s previous tour where despite a 3-0 series loss, there were phases of dominant play.
