Paul Pogba will be in attendance for France‘s round-of-16 clash against Belgium in Dusseldorf, Germany on Monday, a source has told ESPN.
Pogba, who is serving a four-year ban from world football due to a doping offence, will travel from Turin, Italy where he still lives and will attend alongside former France teammate Blaise Matuidi.
The former Juventus midfielder remains in constant contact with France manager Didier Deschamps. The pair are very close having worked together at multiple major tournaments, including France’s triumph at the 2018 World Cup.
Pogba and Matuidi have also been invited to see their former teammates after the game, the ESPN source said.
Pogaa, 31, has not played football since August 2023. He is preparing his hearing in front of the Court of Arbitration for Sport where he hopes his ban will be reduced.
