Islamabad: The 14th UAE Ambassador’s Cup Ramadan Football Tournament 2026 kicked off in Islamabad with a vibrant opening ceremony attended by diplomats, senior officials, and football fans.

The ceremony brought together the Ambassador of Kuwait, the Ambassador of Lebanon, the Ambassador of Zimbabwe, and the Deputy Head of Mission of the United States, along with senior Pakistani government representatives, members of the diplomatic corps, and media personnel.

Organized annually by the Embassy of the United Arab Emirates, the tournament is held during the holy month of Ramadan to promote sportsmanship, cultural exchange, and community engagement. The event serves as a platform to strengthen friendship and deepen people-to-people ties among participating countries and communities.

This year, 10 teams are competing in a total of 22 matches, promising exciting football action throughout the tournament. Over the years, the UAE Ambassador’s Cup has become a key sporting event in Islamabad’s Ramadan calendar, reflecting the UAE’s continued commitment to fostering goodwill and cooperation through sports diplomacy.
