Slovakia’s prime minister, Robert Fico, remains in grave condition Thursday after he was shot several times in what officials describe as a politically motivated assassination attempt.
The populist leader was attacked Wednesday as he greeted citizens and then underwent extensive surgery for “life-threatening” injuries. He is in serious but stable condition, officials said.
