Air India and Air India Express are set to operate a total of 48 flights between India and key Middle East destinations, as services gradually resume following recent disruptions caused by airspace restrictions in the region.

The operations, which include both scheduled and additional (non-scheduled) services, are part of a phased restoration of connectivity across major Gulf routes. According to airline updates and media reports, the flights will connect several Indian cities including Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Chennai, Kochi, Kozhikode and Thiruvananthapuram to destinations across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Oman and Kuwait.

Dubai, one of the busiest international routes for Indian carriers, is also seeing a partial resumption of services. Flights to and from Dubai, which were temporarily suspended amid the disruption, are now being restored in phases, with limited frequencies currently in operation. Full normalisation of schedules is expected to depend on further stabilisation of regional airspace conditions.

The recent disruptions were triggered by escalating tensions in parts of the Middle East, which led to temporary airspace closures and precautionary restrictions, impacting multiple international airlines and resulting in cancellations, delays and rerouted flights.

Air India has said it is working to accommodate affected passengers through a combination of rebookings and additional capacity, where feasible. However, schedules remain dynamic, and further adjustments may be made at short notice depending on operational conditions.

What passengers should do

Check flight status: Passengers are strongly advised to verify their flight status on the airline’s website or mobile app before heading to the airport

Stay flexible: Opt for alternative flights or revised travel dates if your original booking has been impacted

Arrive early: Expect longer wait times at airports due to operational changes and increased passenger load

Monitor updates: Keep track of official airline advisories and notifications for real-time information

Contact support if needed: Reach out to airline helplines or booking agents for rebooking or refund assistance

Passengers travelling on Middle East routes in the coming days are advised to plan ahead and remain prepared for possible delays or last-minute changes, as airlines continue to navigate evolving conditions in the region.
