Goa Hotel Staff Picks Mumbai, Bengaluru Tourists Over Delhi, Reveals Why: ‘They Are Rough’
A video from a hotel in Goa has sparked a discussion online after a staff member shared her views on different kinds of tourists. The clip shows a conversation between a content creator and hotel employees, where they talk about which visitors they prefer and why.
The video was shared on Instagram by hospitality professional Hanumant Naik. It begins with a view of a hotel pool before the camera moves towards two staff members, a man and a woman, both wearing green uniforms.
Naik says that with fewer foreign tourists now, the hotel will mostly see Indian visitors. He then asks the woman, “From where do you want to see tourists? Delhi, Mumbai or Bangalore?” He follows it up by asking if she would like tourists from Delhi.
The woman smiles and replies, “No sir.” When asked if they are rude, she agrees and explains, “They talk like this: ‘O hello. O idhar. Paani laao. Chai laao’.”
She then compares them with visitors from other cities. Speaking about Mumbai tourists, she says, “Mumbai wale achche hain. Vo log bahut respect se [baat karte hain].”
She also mentions Bengaluru visitors, saying, “Bangalore tourists bhi achcha hai,” and adds, “Delhi wala thoda rough hai.” The man standing next to her agrees with her opinion about Delhi tourists.
While sharing the video, Naik wrote that his intention was not to target anyone but to highlight behaviour noticed by staff. He said, “No hate to Delhi, only calling out behaviour that everyone quietly notices… And just to be clear, this isn’t even my personal opinion… it’s feedback from my service staff who deal with guests daily.”
He also added, “This reel is NOT for the well-behaved Delhi tourists — you’re always welcome.”
The video led to mixed reactions online. Some users agreed with the staff member.
A person wrote, “The only time I hate being associated to Delhi. She is absolutely right, Delhites are rude…super rude.”
Another shared a personal experience, saying, “This happened to me recently. We were at a restaurant in Goa… At the end, one of the staff members came up to us and asked, ‘Are you from Mumbai?’… ‘I could tell, you were so polite and well spoken’.”
However, not everyone agreed. A user said, “This is not funny. Typical stereotype attitude towards Delhi. Not all people are rude.”
Another commented, “As a hotelier I 100 per cent agree with her!!” A user also joked, “Chalo finally the Mumbai Delhi argument has been put to rest.”
