Good news for devotees of Khatu Shyam temple. Now travelling to the revered Khatu Shyam Temple may soon become easier and smoother thanks to the upcoming railway station in the town. A few days back, Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw announced a new railway station close to the temple. According to PTI, the minister met a delegation from Shri Khatu Shyam Ji Temple Trust from Sikar, Rajasthan a few days back. Now, the project has gathered momentum with North Western Railway (NWR) General Manager Pankaj Sharma inspecting the proposed site and reviewing development plans. Which means that Indian Railways is moving ahead with one of the region’s most-awaited connectivity projects.What we know so far:

As per NBT report, the proposed station is expected to significantly improve rail access to Shri Khatu Shyam Ji Temple, which is among North India’s most visited pilgrimage hubs. The temple attracts lakhs of devotees every year, especially during the annual Falgun Mela.According to the Ministry of Railways, the new station will be developed on the Sikar–Ringas rail section between Palsana and Baori Thikria stations. The proposed site lies nearly 11 km from the Khatu Shyam Temple, making train travel more convenient for visitors.The station would provide safer, faster and more convenient railway services for devotees visiting the temple. The ministry also confirmed that the required technical work for the project would be taken up before construction progresses.The new railway station is expected to:

Khatu Shyam Ji in Rajasthan’s Sikar district is one of the country’s fastest-growing pilgrimage destinations. It is revered by devotees from Rajasthan, Delhi, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat who keep visiting the temple throughout the year. During the annual fair time, the number of visitors surge exceptionally.But with better rail connectivity, the destination is going to be more accessible for travellers who prefer trains over road transport, while also reducing pressure on existing transport infrastructure.With the Railway Minister’s announcement now followed by a high-level inspection from the North Western Railway’s General Manager, the proposed Khatu Shyam railway station appears to be moving steadily from announcement to implementation.
