Jelly Roll just ditched his smartphone again — and this time he chucked it into the Cumberland River.

Appearing on the December 16 episode of his wife Bunnie Xo’s Dumb Blonde podcast, the country star, 40, revealed he’s planning to go without a phone entirely in 2025.

The Save Me hitmaker made the decision after the stress of constant notifications and missed messages became overwhelming.

“I was getting hundreds and hundreds of text messages a day,” he shared on the podcast. “I just was overwhelmed. This phone was causing me a lot of guilt.”

Despite loved ones understanding his busy schedule, Jelly — born Jason Bradley DeFord — explained that missing messages left him feeling like a bad person, piling on unnecessary pressure.

His wife, Bunnie, confirmed this isn’t his first drastic move to unplug. “My husband has been throwing phones away,” she said, joking about how people often have to reach out to her to contact him.

For 2025, Jelly plans to use a flip phone, focusing on mindfulness and reducing stress. “I realised the phone does not help me be any of the stuff I actually wanna be,” he explained, citing his desire to improve as a husband, father, and artist.

While the Need a Favor singer’s approach may be unconventional, it’s a bold step toward prioritising mental health — and living life unplugged.
