Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have lost employee after employee since their move away from the Firm and much of it has been documented by eagle eyed observers.
Now, PR guru and crisis manager has even stepped forward to highlight what the exit of people like communications chief Meredith Maines and Harry’s right-hand-man James Holt means for the couple.
The guru in question is Mark Borkowski and he believes an exit of this magnitude is nothing short of disastrous for the couple.
Because “one viral misfire, one poorly timed quote, one tone-deaf lifestyle pivot, and suddenly the narrative outruns the strategy,” he was quoted saying according to the Daily Mail.
Mr Borkowski also added, “in celebrity-led brands, especially ones fuelled by moral narrative, the biggest danger isn’t hostility — it’s inconsistency.” Especially when its followed by “too many messages, too many intermediaries, too many half-thought-through gestures.”
“Centralisation is less about ego and more about survival,” he noted too.
What is pertinent to mention is that while Ms Maines is the couple’s 12th advisor to leave in recent years, Mr Holt served the Archewell charity since 2021, prior to this he was their PR chief.
What is pertinent to mention is that while Ms Maines’ exit was said to have happened because her work was ‘concluded”, Mr Holt is “frustrated that his moving back to the UK is coming at a time of transition for the Duke and Duchess, hence his staying on for a few months yet to manage things at Archewell. He’s very protective of the couple and anxious this is going to cause them grief.”
