More insight into what fans should look for in Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s new project with Netflix titled The Wedding Date has finally come to light.
The project will be adapting a bo novel ok that was a New York Times bestseller, and is only part of their “multi-year, first-look deal.”
The original book by Jasmine Guillory goes by the same name and was originally published in 2018. The couple will also receive help from producer Tracy Ryerson on the project when attempting to bring this to life.
Deadline claims The Wedding Date is “a chance elevator encounter on the part of a career-driven political strategist lead to posing as a stranger’s wedding date. While the strategist had stopped believing in romance, she discovers that love has a way of showing up when you least expect it.”
What is pertinent to mention that this project, is just the next in a series of releases the Sussexes have already done under the Archewell Productions banner. From Polo, to With Love, Meghan, Heart of Invictus, and even their infamous Harry & Meghan docuseries.
Social media also came abuzz when the news first hit social media, but the reactions are polarizing. While some are excited, others could be seen questioning the end result with words like “Good luck with that. Can’t wait to hear what Harry and his handler know about producing.”
Those rooting for them focused on the lighthearted nature of this project and added “I love that they are making happy, slice of life and heart warming content. Goodness knows we need it right now.”
