Timothée Chalamet made a surprise appearance at a public look alike contest

After organising a breakthrough public event, Anthony Po was hit with a hefty fine, which Timothée Chalamet offered to cover. However, Po declined.

On Tuesday, Po, who organised the viral Timothée Chalamet look-alike contest on October 27 in downtown Manhattan, told People that the Dune star’s team reached out to cover the $500 fine.

The YouTuber described being contacted by the Hollywood heartthrob’s team as “truly funny,” eventually, the digital invite app Partiful stepped in to pay the fine instead.

Po’s event went viral, partly due to the civil unrest that followed. The NYPD arrested four attendees while trying to break up the event. Po had not sought a permit for which the officials issued him a $500 fine.

The internet star also shared how Chalamet’s team reacted to the viral event, where the actor himself made a surprise appearance.

“They basically [said] like, ‘We thought it was awesome. Thanks so much.’ It was all good and fun,” Po said, sharing the team’s reaction.

The Timothée Chalamet look-alike competition went viral and became a global trend, spawning offshoots that searched for celebrity doppelgängers, including those of Glen Powell, Paul Mescal, and One Direction members Harry Styles and Zayn Malik.
