King Charles at breaking point? Monarch’s emotional state sparks palace worries
King Charles was recently spotted looking distressed and worried amid rumours he is set to abdicate in favour of Prince William, a new report has revealed.
The monarch sparked concerns about his health and the future of monarchy after he appeared visibly emotional and distressed during a conversation with Reverend Paul Williams at St Mary Magdalene Church in Norfolk.
Speaking with New Idea Magazine, the monarch, who was diagnosed of cancer last year and is still undergoing treatment, has been seeking counsel from the reverend.
The appearance has fueled speculations of him abdicating earlier than expected, with palace insiders revealing that his team is preparing for a possible transition.
Speaking of his meeting with Reverend Williams after the Sunday church service, the source said, “Charles was visibly emotional.”
“He had his head in his hands at one point, and the Reverend was obviously concerned,” they added. “Charles is generally very happy and positive when he attends Sunday service so this was a real departure from the norm.”
“Charles’ aides have been taking his reign day by day for months now,” revealed the source. “He is determined to serve as long as he possibly can, but he is not a young man and his cancer treatment is, naturally, taking its toll.”
The source noted that there will “come a day, possibly soon, where he simply can’t go on,” adding that King Charles is “taking advice from his secretaries, his doctors, and especially his religious instructors.”
“If he does decide to relinquish the crown, everyone involved would support it. It has been heartbreaking to watch him get sick so soon after finally becoming King.”
