Prince Harry, Meghan Markle make milestone with new film

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s new documentary has reportedly been bought by Paramount+.

The streaming platform has secured the rights to the film, which was executive-produced by the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, according to a new report.

The reported move raised question to the couple’s apparent “first-look” deal with Netflix.

Meghan and Harry released a bombshell documentary and the former Suits star’s lifestyle show “With Love, Meghan” after signing a $100million deal with Netflix.

However, the couple ripped up their contract earlier this year to take full control of Meghan’s brand, As Ever – though they announced a fresh “multi-year, first-look deal” granting the network priority access to projects developed through their Archewell production company.

The couple, who are currently in the UK with their two children Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, maintained this new agreement disproved suggestions they were set to sever ties with the streaming giant altogether.

However, Paramount+ now appeared to have snatched the rights to Cookie Queens over Netflix, according to the Daily Mail.

The acquisition seems to have stemmed from the couple’s relationship with Paramount Pictures chief executive Brian Robbins, who hosted the Duke and Duchess at a Bob Marley biopic premiere in Jamaica back in 2024.

The Sussexeses presence at that Kingston screening raised eyebrows at the time, given the two had no involvement whatsoever in the reggae legend’s film.

There is a possibility that Netflix were not interested in signing the film at all, after its theatrical release in America proved nothing short of disastrous.

It earned a measly £242,000 in its first weekend in cinemas, despite being shown in 446 theatres – equating to just over £540 per screening.

The documentary entered the IMDB Box Office Mojo, a popular box office ticket tracker website, in 13th place, and was pipped into the top 10 by CatVideoFest 2026, which is described as “a compilation of the latest and best cat videos” from the internet.
