Spinach
Spinach loves slightly cool, moist conditions, making pre‑monsoon and early rains ideal. Sow seeds directly in shallow trays or wide pots (at least 20–25 cm deep) filled with loose, rich soil. Keep them in bright light but protect from pounding rain. Harvest leaves regularly to encourage fresh growth.

Methi
Methi is one of the easiest monsoon greens. Scatter seeds densely in shallow containers and cover lightly with soil. It germinates quickly and doesn’t need deep pots, so it’s perfect for railing planters. Keep soil moist, not waterlogged. Snip tender leaves for methi parathas and curries within 20–25 days.

Amaranth
Amaranth thrives in humid weather and gives you both tender leaves and, later, seeds if you let it mature. Sow seeds in medium‑deep pots or grow bags. It tolerates some rain exposure, but ensure good drainage. Regular picking of young leaves keeps plants compact and productive.

Bhindi
Okra loves warmth and moisture. Use deep pots or grow bags (30 cm+), one or two plants per container. Sow seeds directly, keep them in full sun, and shield pots from strong wind. Once plants establish, they handle monsoon well. Harvest pods when young and tender.

Gourds
Gourds are natural climbers suited to terrace and balcony railings. Sow seeds in deep pots and provide a sturdy trellis, rope, or railing for vines to climb. Place containers where they get good sun and some rain, but avoid water stagnation. Train vines upwards to save floor space and enjoy hanging fruits.

Chillies
Chillies are perfect for pots. Start from seeds or small nursery plants in 20–25 cm deep containers. They like sun and moderate watering. Before heavy monsoon sets in, ensure pots have drainage and move them slightly under cover so flowers and fruits aren’t damaged by harsh rain.

Radish
Radish is a fast crop for cool, moist conditions. Use deep containers (because roots need space) with loose, stone‑free soil. Sow seeds directly and keep the soil evenly moist. In tiny spaces, you can grow a short row in a long rectangular planter and harvest within a few weeks.
