Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Jayanti is observed every year on February 19 to mark the birth anniversary of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. He was the founder of the Maratha Empire and is remembered as one of India’s most respected rulers. Known for his courage and strong leadership, he fought several battles and built a powerful kingdom.

He was crowned as the “Chhatrapati (Emperor)” in 1674. His ideas, leadership style, and words still inspire people across the country. In Maharashtra, the day is celebrated with pride, and many events are organised to honour his legacy.
