Dhurandhar actor Saumya Tandon’s Mumbai home reflects her personal style

Saumya Tandon is currently enjoying a moment of professional high following the success of Dhurandhar. Directed by Aditya Dhar and headlined by Ranveer Singh, the film features her as Ulfat Hasin, the wife of Rehman Dakait,  a role that has earned her considerable appreciation. While audiences are applauding her performance on screen, there is growing curiosity about the person behind the character. Recently, Saumya offered a rare glimpse into her private world by inviting Pinkvilla into her Mumbai home for an intimate walkthrough.

From the outset, the actor clarified that her home is not the work of an interior designer or architect. Every element of the space has been personally imagined and put together by her over time. She shared that the house mirrors her personality completely, even if that means blending styles that may seem unconventional at first. For Saumya, the apparent contrasts are what make the space feel authentic and emotionally rooted.

The tour begins at the entrance, a compact yet inviting area designed to encourage conversation. A simple bench sets the tone, while a gleaming chandelier paired with striking patterned wallpaper immediately draws attention. Saumya described this unexpected pairing as a reflection of her own sensibilities.

Moving further inside, the living room unfolds with a distinct old-world aesthetic. French-style sofas with a weathered, vintage finish dominate the space, lending it warmth and character. Saumya revealed that the room evolved around a single piece of furniture she fell in love with, with the rest of the décor falling into place organically.

The dining area continues this lived-in, distressed look. From the seating to the lighting, the space exudes a sense of calm and comfort, designed for unhurried meals and meaningful conversations rather than formal dining.

One of the most striking areas in the house is the bar corner, a space conceptualised by her husband, Saurabh Devendra Singh. Designed for evenings with friends, it carries a slightly aged European vibe, lifted by a bold splash of blue that adds a playful contrast to the rest of the home.

Saumya also spoke about her fondness for antiques and objects with history. She recalled buying a clock in London that stopped working soon after it reached India, yet she continues to cherish it for its character rather than its function.

The living room opens out into a balcony flooded with natural light. Here, an L-shaped sofa in a soft pastel green sits by the windows, adorned with floral cushions. This tranquil corner is where Saumya prefers to start her mornings, reading the newspaper while sipping a warm, nourishing drink.

Among the many seating spaces in the house, one sofa holds special significance for the actor. She calls it her “lucky sofa,” as it was here that she received the call for Dhurandhar. Learning that Aditya Dhar was at the helm sealed her decision to take on the project.

Describing her kitchen, Saumya referred to it as the most cheerful and energetic part of her home. Her attention to detail is evident, she even waited half a year to find the perfect towel hanger, underscoring her patience and precision when it comes to design choices.

The tour concludes in her bedroom, a spacious area that often doubles as a shooting location. The room features a swing, which she uses as a quiet retreat to listen to music or write poetry.

Altogether, Saumya Tandon’s home feels layered, intimate, and thoughtfully curated, an honest extension of her personality and creative spirit.
