The festival of Diwali, also known as the festival of lights, holds great significance in India and is celebrated with grandeur and pomp. According to the Vedic Hindu calendar, Diwali is celebrated every year on the Amavasya Tithi of the Karthi month. On the evening of Diwali, Goddess Lakshmi and Lord Ganesha are worshipped, and people pray for happiness and prosperity. The festival is incomplete without lights and diyas. According to religious beliefs, Lord Ram returned to Ayodhya after 14 years of exile.
On Diwali, people deck up their houses with flowers, make rangoli, add colourful lights and lamps to decorate their houses and distribute sweets. On this day, Lord Ganesha and Goddess Lakshmi are worshipped to bring happiness, prosperity and peace in the house. As per astrology, some special lamps are also lit on this auspicious day. It is said that doing so also brings wealth and prosperity. So, if you are wondering, what is the right way of lighting the lamps on Diwali to attract wealth.
Ayodhya’s astrologer, Pandit Kalki Ram, said Diwali is on the night of Kartik Amavasya. There has been confusion regarding the dates of Diwali, as some are claiming that it is on October 31, while others have claimed it to be November 1. As per the Panchang, the Amavasya date of Kartik month will start on October 31 at 03:52 pm. This tithi will end on November 1 at 06:16 pm. Pandit Kalki Ram said that lighting a lamp for the arrival of Goddess Lakshmi brings happiness and prosperity to the house.
As per Vastu Shastra, a ghee lamp should be lit in front of Goddess Lakshmi on the day of Diwali. Apart from this, a four-faced lamp should be lit as it pleases the Goddess. Meanwhile, on the day of Diwali, one must light a lamp in the temple or place of worship at home. It will bring blessings from the Goddess.
On the night of Diwali, make sure to light a lamp in the southern direction. Doing this removes negativity from the house and positive energy flows in. It is also known to increase the wealth. If you are facing any financial crisis, then you should light a ghee lamp during the daytime on Diwali. If you want to be successful, put the ghee lamp at the main entrance. It is believed that the stalled work will be completed.
