JJ Valaya, Varun Bahl, Shantnu & Nikhil Come Together To Celebrate Fashion For A Cause

JJ Valaya, Varun Bahl and Shantnu & Nikhil will showcase their collections at the annual fundraiser at Dhan Mill, New Delhi.
Fashion For A Cause, over the years, has been a heartfelt and empowering initiative by Lakshyam NGO, where India’s leading designers and artists have united to turn couture into compassion.
Using the power of fashion to fund education and social change, this year’s Fashion For A Cause 2025 showcase will have celebrated couturiers JJ Valaya, Varun Bahl, and Shantnu & Nikhil present their exquisite collections.
“Fashion for a Cause is an initiative that has supported Lakshyam’s vision where every child should be off the street and be in schools. Every year through this initiative we raise awareness, advocacy and funds for their education. I have become part of the Lakshyam family because of this initiative,” expresses Rashi Anand, founder, Lakshyam.
JJ Valaya’s participation represents a bridge between the opulence of couture and the purity of human purpose, proving that fashion can be both aspirational and altruistic. By associating his artistic expression with Lakshyam’s noble mission, he hopes to bring visibility and dignity to underprivileged children and women, reminding the world that compassion is the truest form of luxury.
“As a father of two daughters, this initiative resonates with me on a deeply personal level. I feel a profound connection to the cause, particularly when it comes to empowering young girls, ensuring they grow up with confidence, opportunities, and respect,” says JJ Valaya, adding, “Through this collaboration, I wish to contribute to a world where no girl’s potential is limited by circumstance. For me, supporting Fashion for a Cause is a heartfelt extension of my philosophy that real elegance lies in empathy.”
Valaya will be showcasing JJV’s bridge-to-luxury collection, SATT (meaning seven in Punjabi), on the runway. The Autumn/Winter 2025 collection will introduce new prints alongside JJV’s perennials: The Shifting Leaves Chevron collection and the Fauna series.
Varun Bahl, who returns to Fashion For A Cause after a creative showcase last year, will be celebrating his collection, Nature in Bloom: Empowering Growth, on the runway this year. For Varun Bahl, beauty has always been more than an aesthetic; it’s an emotion that stems from kindness, empathy, and purpose. His decision to support Lakshyam comes from a deep belief that art and design can be instruments of transformation. “The stories of women rebuilding their lives and children finding confidence through education deeply resonate with me. As someone who often draws from nature’s power to heal and renew, I find a strong emotional parallel between my creative philosophy and Lakshyam’s mission; both are rooted in nurturing growth and creating something enduringly beautiful out of hope,” expresses Varun Bahl.
Bahl’s collection takes inspiration from flora that symbolise rebirth, endurance, and light after darkness. The designs are a poetic expression of renewal, a reminder that with compassion and care, every being has the power to flourish.
