Nepal is rolling out a new tourism push aimed directly at Indian content creators and travellers, and this time, the Himalayan nation is offering selected participants a sponsored trip across the country. The initiative, announced by the Embassy of Nepal in New Delhi, is inviting Indian influencers, vloggers and podcasters to apply for a familiarisation tour designed to showcase Nepal’s tourism experiences to a wider digital audience.

Nepal has long been a favorite among Indian tourists due to its proximity, shared cultural and religious ties, and incredible natural beauty. However, with growing competition from other international destinations, the Nepalese Embassy is leveraging digital influencers to create authentic, relatable content that resonates with Indian travelers.

Selected creators will document their journeys through Instagram Reels, YouTube vlogs, podcasts, short-form videos, social media posts, and stories, highlighting practical travel tips, hidden gems, local recommendations, and responsible tourism practices.

Eligibility Criteria: Who Can Apply?

To apply, you must be:

  • An Indian national or a content creator currently based in India.
  • Have an active presence on platforms like Instagram, YouTube, Facebook, or X (formerly Twitter).
  • Demonstrate strong audience engagement, professional credibility, and the ability to produce high-quality content.

Preference is given to those specializing in travel, spirituality, wellness, food, culture, tourism, lifestyle, and adventure niches. Fluency in English, Hindi, or regional Indian languages is a big plus, as it helps connect with broader audiences across the country. The embassy emphasizes creators who promote responsible tourism.

How to Apply: Step-by-Step Guide

Applications are open now and close on May 30, 2026. Here’s what you need to do:

Prepare Your Portfolio: Gather links to your social media profiles, sample work (especially travel-related content), audience analytics (followers, engagement rates), and examples of high-quality videos or posts.

Craft a Strong Proposal: Include creative content ideas specifically tailored to promoting Nepal tourism to Indian audiences. Think about unique angles — such as budget travel tips for families, spiritual journeys to Lumbini (birthplace of Buddha), adventure treks in the Annapurna region, or food trails featuring momos and dal bhat.

Submit via Email: Send your complete application to the email address provided in the official embassy announcement (check the Embassy of Nepal’s official X handle @EONIndia for details and the circular).

Selection Process: The embassy will evaluate entries based on creativity, storytelling ability, content quality, audience reach, and overall digital impact. Shortlisted candidates will be notified, and the final itinerary and travel dates will be shared later.

What Can Travellers Expect on the Trip?

While the exact itinerary is yet to be finalized, expect a comprehensive tour covering key highlights:

Kathmandu Valley: Historic temples, bustling markets, and vibrant culture.

Pokhara: Boating on Phewa Lake, paragliding, and stunning mountain views.

Adventure & Nature: Opportunities for trekking, wildlife in Chitwan National Park, or exploring Himalayan vistas.

Spiritual Sites: Visits to Lumbini and other sacred locations.

Culinary Experiences: Hands-on sessions with Nepali cuisine and local hospitality.

Creators will be encouraged to produce a mix of real-time updates and polished post-trip content to maximize reach.
