New Mom Sonam Kapoor Glows In White At Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla’s Anniversary Celebration

Designers Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla are among the most renowned celebrity fashion duos in India, best known for their maximalist aesthetic in Indian fashion and their intricate and meticulous embroidery.
To celebrate their long-standing friendship and fashion house, the two designers had a massive celebration in Mumbai recently. They marked four decades of their label with an incredibly OTT evening at Mubarak Baug, their Mumbai flagship. This event saw Bollywood-style icons come together along with the who’s who of the fashion and business world to make an appearance. Among the people in attendance was actor and fashionista Sonam Kapoor.
The new mom was seen looking etheral in an Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla creation – a creamy white anarkali with chikankari details. She had what looked like two ivory duppatta, with similar but not matching details, that were regally draped across her shoulders, a style that the actor has been personally enjoying playing with in previous outings as well.
Sonam Kapoor gave birth to her second son, Rudralokh Kapoor Ahuja, on March 29, 2026. She and her husband, Anand Ahuja, have another child together, Vayu Kapoor Ahuja, who was born in August 2022.
For her accessories, Sonam Kapoor took a page out of the designer duo’s notebook and went with massive silver sahare earrings with beaded fringe details that matched her garment and that cliped to her hair. She added a single dazzling silver statement ring, and her hair was simply tied at the back. Her glam too was simple: a brown eye sans eyeliner and a light pink glossy lip.
On the work front, Sonam Kapoor had stepped away from the camera to focus on her family life. While she has been a mainstay at fashion events, both in India and on the global front, the actor has been keeping a low profile in the film industry.
Last year, in an interview with the Times of India, she said, “I became a mother and wanted to give it as much time as possible – so that I could witness the process of seeing my son grow up. I wanted to enjoy the feeling of being a mother and it has been the most rewarding experience of my life.”
However, she also expressed that she is excited to return “to doing what I love doing – acting”. She added, “I’m being drawn to disruptive subjects that allow me to shine. I have always tried to pick projects with the girl at the heart of the story and that vision hasn’t changed. I want to do projects where the role of the woman is layered and not unidimensional. I’m excited to come back in front of the camera and my first project post-pregnancy will roll out in the last quarter of 2025.”
