BALTIMORE — On the third attempt to convert a fourth-down in the first half Sunday, Denver Broncos coach Sean Payton reached deep into his playbook.

Facing a fourth-and-goal from the Baltimore Ravens’ 2-yard line, quarterback Bo Nix took the snap, handed the ball to running back Javonte Williams, who then flipped the ball to wide receiver Courtland Sutton. Sutton, who had thrown a pass in the fourth quarter of the Broncos’ win over the Carolina Panthers last week, threw to Nix in the right front corner of the end zone for the score.

The touchdown trimmed the Ravens’ lead to 10-7 with just over seven minutes left in the first half.

Nix is now the only player in the league this season to have passed for a touchdown, rushed for a touchdown and had a receiving touchdown.
