It’s been just under a month since James Wood last took the field for the Washington Nationals, and even he would admit it’s felt like far longer.
The two-time all-star, who has been on the injured list since Aug. 4 with a left oblique strain, returned on Wednesday, playing right field and hitting a single in the Nationals’ 9-0 loss to the Atlanta Braves.
