Here is what to know about the NBA title oddsboard:
Injury Concerns: OKC is atop the board but is facing some serious questions when it comes to injuries. In its Game 2 win over Phoenix, Jalen Williams suffered a hamstring strain. His status for the remainder of the series and beyond is up in the air, and it is the third hamstring injury Williams has suffered this season. Another team in the injury bucket is the Timberwolves, who hold a 3-1 lead over Denver but lost both of their starting guards to injury in Game 4. Donte DiVincenzo suffered a torn Achilles and is out indefinitely, while Anthony Edwards suffered a left knee injury that will keep him out for multiple weeks.
Who Wants to Win the East?: While each of the four Western Conference first-round series are thoroughly in-hand for OKC, San Antonio, Minnesota and the Lakers, the same cannot be said for the East, where two series are tied at two games apiece and the first-seeded Pistons are trailing the Magic 2-1. The last time an 8-seed beat a 1-seed in the playoffs was in 2023, when Miami beat Milwaukee en route to an unlikely NBA Finals berth out of the play-in tournament.
