Cillian Murphy, known for his intense character as Tom Shelby in the famous crime thriller, recently took a trip down memory lane by rewatching the series.

The 48-year-old star admitted that he left ‘heartbroken’ after watching Peaky Blinders, as it brought back some beautiful memories of his late co-star Helen McCrory.

McCrory, who died on April 16, played the unforgettable character in the series as Aunt Polly, alongside Murphy.

The Oscar-winning star is set to step back into Tommy Shelby’s role in an upcoming movie The Immortal Man.

During his recent interview with GQ magazine, he talked about the saddening part where he mentioned the late star, saying the peaky blinders won’t be the same without her.

When asked about watching the series again, he shared, “I was a producer on ‘Peaky’, you kind of have to. It kind of takes the curse off of it. It was very nice watching it, because it was actually quite a good show.”

Recalling the painful moment, he added, “It was also quite heartbreaking, you know, because I was watching Helen McCrory, and we lost her.”

The actor explained saying “you can step back and look at the big picture, and that’s the vibe we are going for.”

“That’s the look we need, that’s the silhouette, and that’s the energy we need from it.’ We need to turn it up for the movie, obviously,” he continued.

Peaky Blinders will remain not just a groundbreaking series, but also a heartfelt tribute to the late talented star Hene.
