The Kardashian-Jenner family did not continue their tradition of hosting a signature Christmas Eve spectacle this year.
While the family still held a smaller, more private celebration, it was nowhere near the large-scale bashes they’ve had over the years.
The recent gathering was hosted by Kendall Jenner at her Beverly Hills home, marking the second consecutive year she has taken on hosting duties.
It is noteworthy that the reality stars still dressed to the nines.
For the celebration, Kendall wore a vintage all-white Mugler look, Kylie Jenner arrived in a black John Galliano ensemble, Kim Kardashian chose a silver, light-draped outfit, while Khloé Kardashian wore a strapless dress. Lorraine Schwartz supplied the family’s pieces for the evening.
Khloé later explained the decision to scale back the celebration, noting that the family had recently thrown a large party for Kris Jenner’s 70th birthday.
This time, the family wanted something more restrained and chose to keep Christmas Eve strictly family-focused.
Kris Jenner’s milestone birthday celebration, held in November, featured a James Bond theme and an A-list guest list that included Meghan Markle, Oprah Winfrey, and Justin Bieber, among others.
Despite the smaller scale, the cost of the Christmas Eve event was still shared equally among family members.
The Kardashian-Jenner Christmas Eve party dates back to 1978, though hosting responsibilities have shifted to the next generation in recent years.
Last year, Kendall also hosted a pared-down gathering, while previous celebrations have included elaborate productions, such as Kim Kardashian’s winter wonderland party, complete with real snow and sledding.
