‘Legally Blonde The Musical’ star Amber Davies makes raw confession after burnout
Amber Davies recently revealed how she has been healing from a burnout amid her recent tour of Legally Blonde The Musical.
For those unaware, Davies is starring as Elle Woods in the latest UK and Ireland tour of Legally Blonde The Musical, based on Reese Witherspoon’s 2001 film.
However, an unfortunate incident occurred as she developed a severe chest infection and had a burnout due to which she had to step away from the production earlier this month.
After cancelling many performances, the production cast Hannah Lowther as her substitute, who went on to perform the role for another fortnight and garnered praise for her performance, as she is also playing Margot.
At the Kinky Boots West End opening gala, Davies conversed with Standard about the unfortunate incident, revealing that she is on the road to recovery.
“I’m so much better now. I just fully, fully crashed. I was burnt out,” the Love Island alum noted.
“I don’t think I’ve been like that since Covid, so I was looking at the clock — I knew it was coming,” she quipped.
Reflecting on the backlash after her sudden disappearance from the show, Davies said, “It was the first time that has ever happened to me.”
“I’ve been working in this business for nearly a decade — I’ve never had to take time out for sickness before,” she stated.
